WOMENS' MARCH SANTA CRUZ January 20th Downtown

Please join GSCFT to march in the anniversary Women's March Santa Cruz. We are co-sponsors of this march. We will gather near the intersection of Locust and Pacific, in front of Verve Coffee. We start gathering at 11:00 and march to Louden Nelson center at noon. There is an activist fair at Louden Nelson after the March. Please RSVP if you think you will attend so I have an idea of how many CFT signs to bring. I can also drop signs off at your school site if you would like to make a sign ahead of time.

Here are links to more information about the March.

TURN IN YOUR EMPLOYMENT VERIFICATION FORM

In regard to the email about Employment Verification from HR:

"Human Resources is reviewing information in your personnel file regarding your seniority, assignment and credentials.  Please review your employment information below.  Your first date of paid probationary service may not be the same as your hire date.  Your first date of paid probationary service is your first day of work in probationary (not temporary) status.  If your information is correct, you do not need to do anything further.  If you need to update your information, please reply to this email by Friday, December 8, 2017, and include your changes.  You will receive confirmation of any changes made from Human Resources.

 Thank you,  Desiree Dominguez

This is the annual Employment Verification form we fill out every January on paper, now being sent out digitally. You need to check to make sure the information is accurate. You do not need to respond to Desiree's email, unless there is a correction to be made. Your response is requested back by 12/8. This is not connected to any plan for transfers; this is the same procedure we do every year, but via email to save paper etc.

ELEMENTARY LISTENING SESSION ON RESTRUCTURED WEDNESDAYS

SCCS District has brought to negotiations the topic of Restructured Wednesdays, and how they are utilized. We do not have a specific proposal yet. GSCFT will then need to respond on behalf of the elementary teachers.

To inform our GSCFT Bargaining Team, we are going to hold a Listening Session on October 16, at Gault School in Room 1A (Kinder) at 3:30. This will be a structured meeting, functioning in Round Robin style. All ideas, responses etc will be recorded without judgement.

(If needed we can have more sessions in the future)

Our negotiating team wants to hear from you about how the use of Wednesdays has evolved over time, what staff would think about making changes to any Wednesdays, how staff feels about adequacy of collaboration time, teacher prep time etc.
